Licensed Psychotherapist

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)* is a therapeutic approach that includes horses in the process of emotional healing and trauma recovery. EAP can only be delivered by a licensed regulated psychotherapist. It is a non-pathologizing, non-diagnosing, person-centered approach to healing. The word ‘therapy’ does not have to mean you have an illness. EAP is helpful whether you seek help for specific mental health conditions or to enhance your overall well-being, relationships, and personal growth.

Studies have shown that EAP has great benefit in helping clients confront, reconcile and heal from trauma.

*Currently, our co-founder is also qualifying as a registered psychotherapist, soon to offer psychotherapy on-site.

Holistic Approach

EAP involves deep, intensive, whole-person integration using a variety of evidence-based neuroscientific, psychological and somatic theories and techniques. The person-focused therapeutic experiences are centered around your own unique needs, goals and contexts. The psychotherapist partners with you to support you in setting self-determined, often long-term, goals and intentions and to facilitate deep, lasting change and empowerment through self-actualization. The therapeutic relationship involves ongoing in-depth sessions which support your individual emotions and life journey to create sustained growth and positive transformation. Horses participate as guides, providing ongoing feedback to help unearth fresh insights or uncover obstacles that keep you stuck.

Follow up Sessions

EAP prioritizes long-term impact and sustainable change through ongoing support and follow-up sessions that extends beyond the equine sessions. The goal of these sessions is to help you to translate horse guided learning into your daily life and relationships.

“The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known loss and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.” Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
